Title A name given to the resource Ornate Character Shoes Description An account of the resource These are size 8 tan colored character shoes used for college theater productions. Character shoes are designed to give feet proper support while the neutral colors are meant to be worn with any costume. This pair, like many other designed for women, have a slight heel. The interior is heavily padded to keep the foot from slipping from the shoes during intense dance performance. The exterior is leather and ornate, which is an unorthodox make. These shoes were used for at least three different productions. However, Roots changed the trajectory of American history. The book version of Roots by Alex Haley came out in 1976 and the movie aired in 1977. The movie captured America’s attention for the full six or seven days it aired. Alex Haley’s book Roots inspired millions of Americans to research, reexamine, reflect and rewrite a history that tells a truer narrative of America. The cover is symbolic of the depth of the soil, and the earth tones. Yet, the cover reflects strength in the bold letters that are linked together, which represents the bonds that connects us all to the human race. He also held the New Jersey State Record for several years before it was broken. His record still stands as the last time New Jersey has won the pole vault event at the Penn Relays.
