She volunteered at the orphanage as a second job with one of her site mates. Her teaching job was only done two days out of the week. She taught English on Monday and half of Tuesday. One half of all the babies at the orphanage died before 6 months and most were born out of wedlock. The school year for these students was pass/fail for the entire year. Students would delay the start of the school year on their own. by not showing up for classes until October when the school year actually started in September. The Pass/Fail environment caused students so much stress they passed out, hyperventilated, and one student suffered a stress induced heart attack. The Freshman and Sophomore years of school were completely separate from the Junior and Senior years of school. </text>
