<text>Written by Johnny Gruelle in 1927, Wooden Willie has been passed down through generations of children. The book was originally given to Jesse Culbertson’s father-in-law by his wife’s grandfather before eventually being given to Culbertson’s wife by her grandmother. Despite being a children’s bedtime story, the 95 page book consists primarily of text recounting the story of a real physical toy. Culbertson brought the book to the 2026 UIS Internal History Harvest because it was one of the oldest childhood items he owned which preserves a small piece of family history.</text>
