Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a musical comedy written by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. This musical is based off the Story of Joseph and his coat of many colors found in the book of Genesis in the Bible. This musical appeared for the first time on Broadway in 1982. This show features only a few lines of spoken dialog the rest of the musical is sung. This show has been featured in High Schools around the world and was originally a fifteen minute “pop cantata” that was presented at the Colet Court School in London.
