Boston Celtics Ownership Share
A stock (also known as a share) represents a piece of ownership of a publicly traded company or corporation. These shares of ownership typically are traded through stock exchanges or can be bought privately from the corporation. Ownership of a stock would imply that you are buying into a company that you have a vested interest in doing well. In the case of the Boston Celtics ownership stock, this meant buying into a basketball goliath, who at the time was dominating the NBA, coming off a 59-23 record, and an Eastern Conference championship, only losing to their rivals the Lakers in the NBA finals. At the time that the stock was purchased from the team, the Celtics had by far the most NBA championships under their belt at 16 as well as 11 conference titles (This amount is lower than championships due to a change in how conference titles are handled).
