Aiken County Deputy ID Badge

This ID badge was worn by a previous employee of the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy in the Detention Division. The employee worked for this division during the 2020 pandemic and this ID badge is from South Carolina where the employee lived at the time. The mission of the Detention Center is “to enhance public safety by safely and securely managing persons entrusted into our custody. We will accomplish by providing quality customer service, using sound ethical correctional principles, embracing diversity and building partnerships with our stakeholders.”[1]  This institution has an average inmate count of 407, and of those inmates some are serving sentences for less than 90 days. Some of the inmates are just awaiting trial as well, the employees of this detention center would go about their day to day work while living up to the mission of the center as listed above.
