Department of Corrections Patch

 

This patch is worn by a current employee of the Department of Corrections in the state of Iowa.  Recently, the Department came under the supervision of the entire state rather than the 4th Judicial District.  Therefore, new patches were made for officer uniforms.  The officer that this patch belongs to works as a probation parole officer with the DOC in the High Risk Unit.  Patches like this new one and his old one are important for identifying him as a law enforcement officer and the department he is classified under.  Especially with EMS and first responders, easily identifiable and legible patches can be very important to certain social situations where their distinction may be needed.
